Zoungla is a music project that compiles a wide variety of music styles into an epic journey. Costa Damoulianos, born in Montreal and raised in a Greek household, has been influenced by a tremendous amount of ethnic culture. Inspired by the greats such as Pink Floyd, Dream Theater, Rush, Devin Townsend and so on, Costa, along with three bandmates, began progressive metal band Transcend at a young age in which he held the frontman position, where he sang and played guitar.

Inasmuch as Transcend was integral to his exploration of music, Costa became impressed by a new set of greats and his love for music continued to expand and develop towards the world of psychedelic music, inspired by Shpongle, Ott and Argaman. Not forgetting his progressive rock roots, and with a particular adoration for story telling, Costa paints Zoungla with a combination of unusually overlapping sounds genres to create an epic symphony.
